Nelio

Nelio is a innovative reinterpretation of a bench that in addition to its primary function as a seating furniture also adds storage possibilities.

The surface of the bench has a new look that relates to classical aesthetics and idioms. To break the box's square surfaces, I have worked with the surface expression and given the bench a tactile element in the form of milling.

The bench consists of 3 elements. Two open boxes where one is smaller and fits in the other which together make up the bench top. The boxes are placed on a frame where there are milled tracks that the boxes can drive in.

Nelio is a simple and timeless bench that will work well in most homes. It could e.g. stand in an entrance hall for storing shoes, in a kitchen room for children's toys or in the living room for storing magazines and books.
